Click the “Book Now” button in the top right to go to the reservation page. To make a reservation select either Airbnb or VRBO to be directed to the listing for Porch Therapy on the respective site. From there you can login to your account and book.
Porch Therapy is currently only accepting bookings through Airbnb and VRBO. -
NO ANIMALS ALLOWED - this includes service animals due to health concerns. Guests who bring animals will be asked to leave immediately with no refund
No Smoking inside the house
15 guest maximum - there is bed space for 12 guests, plus 3 couches.
Please shower before and after using the hot tub
Please keep coolers on the porch or in the basement
Do not affix anything to the walls or ceiling. Tape or glue can damage the wood
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am if you go outside. Even though you can’t see the neighbors, sound travels far in the valley.

Porch Therapy has 7 beds with sleeping spaces for 12 people. There are also 3 couches which people can sleep on, for a maximum of 15 people.

Sorry, we do not allow pets due to allergies. The health and wellness of our guests is important to us, so we ask that you do not bring any pets.
Violations of this policy will result in a $200 cleaning fee for each night.
If you need to bring a service animal please inform us beforehand so that we can make cleaning accommodations for the next guests. Service animals must be with their owner at all times and cannot be left alone or crated. They must also be house broken and non-aggressive. Emotional support animals are not allowed. -
Smoking is not allowed inside the home. However, there are plenty of outdoor spaces where you may smoke. Please make sure not to ash or leave burn marks on furniture or rugs, and dispose of your butts before leaving.
Smoking inside the house will result in a $200 cleaning fee for each night.

No, Carters Lake has almost no homes on the lakefront, which results in larger fish. However, there are access points in the recreation areas nearby if you are interested in lake activities.

The front door automatically locks when it’s closed. This is how you can come and go using the keypad to unlock the door. It also has a deadbolt that can be locked from inside.
WARNING: If you lock the deadbolt on the front door, then leave through the side door by locking it from the inside you will not be able to get back in! -
Yes, the cabin has AC and central heating. There is also a propane wall-mounted furnace in the basement hall (in case the power goes out), an amish fireplace in the living room, and an oil space heater in the main bedroom closet.

Yes! There is high-speed WiFi throughout the cabin with speeds over 25mbps, which is perfect for streaming media or working if you have to. Login details will be provided at checkin.

No! Porch Therapy is on 5.24 acres within a gated community. No neighboring houses can be seen from the property. It is close to the gate entrance, but you’ll have plenty of privacy.

No. The cabin is within a gated community with fully paved access. You should have no problem getting to the house at any time of year.

On the day you check in you’ll be given an access code for both the gate to the community, and to the front door. This is how you’ll access the cabin, so there are no keys or people you have to meet.
